Meganisi Island

Meganisi Island
Traditional alleyways and small narrow streets make up the villages of Katomeri and Spartohori and are a clue that this is somewhere where you don’t need to rush around. Instead take time to soak up and embrace the beauty of the surroundings and enjoy the tranquillity of this small Ionian Island where time really does seem to stand still.

Reached by ferry or private water taxi, passing Skorpios island en route, the contrast between the busy Lefkas resort of Nidri and the quiet solitude of Meganisi couldn’t be more marked.

Meganisi really is the place to escape the stresses and strains of a busy life and as you approach Vathy harbour from the water you’ll see the twin Churches blessing and welcoming visitors to our island.

Getting Around

There are many ways to explore Meganisi.
Whilst many like to walk, there is a local bus service and we can arrange car, quad and scooter hire.

Day boats are available for rent for those wishing to explore Meganisi from the sea. Taking things gently it’s possible to travel around the entire island in two and a half to three hours. A lovely way to spend a day!

Flights & Transfers

EasyJet fly from numerous UK airports to Preveza (also referred to as Aktion), as do BA out of Heathrow. Jet2 are another popular carrier also flying from several UK locations.
